Inbound Routes
About Inbound Routes in Sharpen
Direct inward dial numbers (DIDs) are configured through available inbound routes. DIDs are intended for external communications and many inbound routes can be provisioned through the platform.
Extensions are assigned upon user creation within the platform, and edited within Admin > Configuration > Extensions.
Configuring Inbound Routes
Your inbound route is the entry point for your call flow. Here, you can manage the initial path for a specific number.
Generally, you’ll want to ensure that your inbound route points to a Time Control (if you have one).
Search
Search existing phone numbers here. You can search by number, name, or field.
New Number
Order new phone numbers to use within your inbound routes.
Route Edit
Between Route Type and Route Options, there is a shortcut to edit the route type. This can be a helpful shortcut if you need to quickly get back to your queue or Auto Attendant. (In this case, the After Hours Queue)
Edit
View and edit details about the inbound route as a whole.
Ordering a New Number (additional fees may apply)
Clicking the New Number button launches a new window that walks you through the ordering process.
Simply select your Country , State , and City . Then, choose whether you want to mass-order the numbers or select them individually.
For mass ordering, enter the quantity, then click order.
If you choose to mass order, we will do our best to provide a grouping of similar numbers.
If you are selecting numbers individually, you’ll see two columns. Click numbers in the Unselected Numbers Column to add them to your Selected Numbers Column .
Once you’ve made your selections, click Order.
