Gathering Diagnostic Logs from Yealink IP Phone

Follow the steps below to gather diagnostic logging from a Yealink IP phone. Please take note of your phone’s software version. The steps below are slightly different.

Lower than v80 looks like this at the login screen.

Setting verbose logging level

  1. Navigate to web config of the target phone (e.g. http://111.222.333.444)

  2. Login with default username and password

    1. Username: admin

    2. Password: admin

  3. Navigate to Settings menu

  4. Navigate to Configuration sub-menu

  5. Set Module Log Level to 6 for All

  6. Set Local Log Level to 6

  7. Click the Confirm button

At this stage, it is important to know what type of information you need. Some issues may require just a system log export after reproducing the issue, while others may require a packet capture (pcap). If you are unsure which is necessary, consult with the SharpenCare engineer assisting you.

Export Configuration

  1. To the right of the Export Configuration item, click the Export button.

Packet capture

  1. After having set the logging levels above, scroll to the bottom and click the Start button to the right of the Export All Diagnostic Files item.

  2. Reproduce the issue

  3. Click the Stop button

  4. Click the Export button

Export Local Log

  1. To the right of the Export Local Log item, click the Export button.

  5. Set SystemLogLevel to 6

  1. To the right of the Export_Import_Config item, click the Export button.

  1. After having set the SystemLogLevel to 6, click the Start button to the right of the Pcap Feature item.

  2. Reproduce the issue

  3. Click the Stop button

  4. Click the Export button

Export System Log

  1. To the right of the Export System Log item, make sure “Local” is set, allowing for an export directly from the phone to the workstation you are using.

    1. If “Server” is chosen, it is required that a Syslog server is configured. In most cases this is not necessary.

  2. Click the Export button.
