Troubleshooting Connect

Microphone Permissions

When using the Sharpen Connect application, you must grant the application access to your microphone. If you do not allow access to the Microphone, Connect will be unable to function.

Permission Notification
When launching Connect and making a call for the first time, you will receive a pop-up notification asking for permission to use your microphone. It will look like this:

When this pop-up appears you must click the Allow option. If you click Block you will be unable to use Connect until you have removed the exception. If you click the X button you will be unable to complete the current call.

Clearing Exceptions
In order to clear the Block for the microphone, complete the following steps:

  1. In Chrome, navigate to chrome://settings/content

  2. Scroll down to the Microphone section.

  3. Default should be selected unless you want to use a specific device.

  4. Next, click Manage exceptions...

  5. You will be presented with a list of sites that have requested microphone access, as well as if they have been blocked or allowed. Connect will show up as https://connect.sharpencx.com:443. If this appears as Block hover over the entry and click the X icon. Then click Done .

  6. Navigate back to Connect and attempt to make another call, you should be presented with the pop-up notification again. Be sure to click Allow .
