Setting Up Find Me
Overview
Find Me is a call routing feature that allows inbound calls to an extension to be directed to multiple destinations simultaneously or sequentially. Rather than ringing a single extension, Find Me can route a call to another extension, a mobile device, voicemail, or other destinations, ensuring the call reaches the user wherever they are. This feature can be configured by the end user through the End User Dashboard or by an administrator through the Extensions configuration page.
Configuring Find Me
Find Me can be accessed in one of two ways:
End User — Navigate to the End User Dashboard and click Find Me.
Administrator — Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Extensions, select the appropriate extension, and scroll down to the Find Me Settings section.
Step 1: Enable Find Me and Set Ring Time
Toggle Find Me On to activate the feature. Once enabled, set the External Ring Time, the number of seconds the Find Me application will ring the configured destinations before moving to the final routing step.
Step 2: Select a Ring Method and Add Destinations
Choose how the configured destinations will be rung:
Ring All All destinations are rung simultaneously for the duration of the External Ring Time. The call is answered by whichever destination picks up first.
Hunt Destinations are rung one at a time in the order they are listed, each ringing for the full duration of the External Ring Time before moving to the next.
When using Hunt, each destination rings for the entire External Ring Time before the system moves on. With multiple destinations configured, this can result in significant wait times for the caller. Plan your ring time and number of destinations carefully.
Click + Add More Options to add destinations. For each destination, select the type from the dropdown menu and enter either the extension or the 10-digit external number you want to ring. Repeat until all desired destinations have been added.
Step 3: Configure the Final Routing Option
This step determines where the call is routed if it was not answered during Step 2. This is typically set to the user's own voicemail, but the call can be directed to any destination within the Sharpen platform.
Routing Calls to Find Me
Once Find Me is configured, calls must be routed to it in order for the feature to take effect.
Set your Status Available or Status Unavailable call path to Find Me on the End User Dashboard and ensure your status is set to the appropriate routing option.
Administrators can configure this by navigating to Admin > Configuration > Extensions, selecting the extension, and updating the Call Path section to route to Find Me under the desired status.
