Removing a number from mobile carriers spam lists

Removing a number from mobile carriers spam lists

In an effort to protect their customers, major cellular carriers like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint categorize numbers as legitimate or potential spam. This is done via a combination of reports from their customers marking calls as spam and blocking them as well as through purchased access to databases of known spam caller IDs. Sharpen customers who do a significant amount of outbound volume (such as sales campaigns, collection agencies, etc.) are at a higher risk of having their caller IDs caught in one of these filters.

Verifying reports of SPAM

It's helpful to have the QCMID of an Outbound call that was reportedly received as SPAM. If test calls from a Sharpen Q to either a customer's number or a personal cellphone are confirmed to show "SPAM Risk" as the Caller ID, then we have an example we can review Sharpen system logging with. Additionally, we can forward the report onto our Carrier to verify nothing is getting marked as SPAM in their system for this specific example call.

To independently verify SPAM reports outside of either Sharpen or our Carrier, this website is helpful to search the problematic number on: https://lookup.robokiller.com/. For example, here we can see an Outbound TFN that is frequently being reported as SPAM by a variety of people:
