Yealink Manual Provisioning

This article provides the steps to manually configure a Yealink phone to connect to Sharpen in the absence of automatic provisioning through Yealink RPS. 

Preparation

Before beginning the provisioning process, it is important to fulfill the configuration items below. This can be done via the Configuration>Extensions menu within Sharpen Admin.

  • MAC Address

    • The MAC should be entered strictly as an alpha-numeric string; do not include any colon characters in this field (i.e. 00:F0:12:AB:34:CD should be expressed as 00F012AB34CD)

  • Device type & device group have been designated and saved on the proper extension

Provisioning your Yealink Phone from the web interface

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to the IP address of the phone (ex. http://10.0.5.48)

  2. Login with default Yealink credentials

    • User: admin

    • Password: admin

  3. Navigate to Register>Account

  4. Set the following fields

    1. Account

      1. Line Active: Enabled

      2. Label: Enter extension number here, (ie.- Ext 108 if the extension is 108con1409)

      3. Display Name: Enter the user’s first and last name

      4. Register Name: This would be the user’s Username found on the extensions page within Sharpen, such as 108con1409, as shown below.

      5. User Name: (Same value as the Register Name above)

      6. Password: The password is a 32 character value found right under the field labeled ‘Extension’ from the image above.

    2. SIP Server 1

      1. Server host: Found on the extensions page under the field Server Address; Port: 5060 (If your server address is listed similarly to us1.vbx555.09.f.sipvbx.com on the extension page then you would enter us1.vbx555.sipvbx.com in the Server and Address fields)

      2. Transport: UDP

      3. Server Expires: 240

      4. Server Retry Counts: 3

    3. SIP Server 2 (First section not used; Only set the Enable Outbound Proxy Server section)

      1. Enable Outbound Proxy Server: Enabled

      2. Outbound Proxy Server 1: (Same value as the Server Host field)

      3. Outbound Proxy Server 2: (Same value as the Server Host field)

Next click the ‘Confirm’ button at the bottom of the page

Reboot the device by unplugging the phone and plugging it back in.
