Recommended Meraki Configuration

What are recommended configuration changes for Cisco Meraki firewalls?
Below you will find the basic general recommendations for configuring your Cisco Meraki firewall desk phone and Sharpen Q phone or Connect (webrtc) traffic.

Before proceeding, it is important to understand which Sharpen izolation zone (iz) your organization connects to. Follow the appropriate steps based on your active environment.

IZ0 - Users connect to http://app.sharpencx.com

IZ1 - Users connect to http://app.iz1.sharpen.cx

IZ0

  1. Log into https://dashboard.meraki.com

  2. Go to 'Configure'

  3. Click on Traffic Shaping

  4. Go to Traffic Shaping Rules

  5. Click Add Rule

  6. Click Custom Expressions and put 54.173.127.1/24 into the box. Click Add Expression

  7. Click Add

  8. Select VoIP and Video Conferencing

  9. Bandwidth limit to ignore network per client limit (unlimited)

  10. Priority - High

  11. DSCP tagging - 7 (WMM Voice)

  12. Click Save

 

IZ1

  1. Log into https://dashboard.meraki.com

  2. Go to 'Configure'

  3. Click on Traffic Shaping

  4. Go to Traffic Shaping Rules

  5. Click Add Rule

  6. Click Custom Expressions and put us1-webrtc-01.iz1.sharpen.cx, us1-webrtc-02.iz1.sharpen.cx, us1-webrtc-03.iz1.sharpen.cx, us1-vbx-01.iz1.sharpen.cx, us1-vbx-02.iz1.sharpen.cx, us1-vbx-03.iz1.sharpen.cx into the box. Click Add Expression

    1. If IPs are preferred (these are subject to change) enter 18.205.175.46, 3.91.123.104, 3.228.252.37,35.174.79.112,18.215.195.239,23.23.74.83 into the box. Click Add Expression

  7. Click Add

  8. Select VoIP and Video Conferencing

  9. Bandwidth limit to ignore network per client limit (unlimited)

  10. Priority - High

  11. DSCP tagging - 7 (WMM Voice)

  12. Click Save
