Sending SMS with Quick Campaign

From OctopusCX Dashboard, you want to start by navigating to Send SMS by:

  • Selecting Quick Campaign from the application switcher

  • Navigate to Send SMS on the navigation panel to the left

Once you have completed the steps above, you will see a similar page to the one below:

Who to send the message to:

Contact List:

You may start by selecting a contact list from the drop down menu.

You can also create a contact list by clicking the Create List button.

When clicked, a window like the one below should appear:

To begin, navigate to the List details section. Here, you'll need to provide information for two fields:

  • The Name of the contact list

  • The Description of the contact list.

Enter the desired information in the appropriate fields, following the example below.

Next, you'll need to upload your contacts list. Please note that only Excel or CSV files are accepted. Once you have your list ready, you can upload it by dragging it onto the highlighted area or selecting it from your folder.

If you're unsure about the formatting or layout of your contacts list, you can download a sample by clicking the "Download Sample" button. The sample is available in both Excel and CSV formats.

After uploading your contacts list, you must assign matching fields to ensure the information is properly imported. This process is illustrated below.

The next fields let you define the behaviour when a duplicate contact is found in the contact list. The options you can choose from are:

  •             Ignore: The duplicate contact will not be added

  •             Keep Both: Both contacts will be kept and processed separately

  •             Update: Update the original contact with the duplicate contact details

The following drop-down menu allows the user to decide on which column a match should be checked. The options are:

  • Cellphone

  • External ID

After completing the upload process for your contacts list, click Save. This will store the contact list in the system, making it easily accessible from the contact list drop down menu.

Number:

First, ensure you have selected the "Number" option instead of "Contact List" before proceeding.

After selecting the "Number" option, you can enter the desired phone number into the provided field.

What to send:

To start creating a message, simply type your desired message into the designated message box.

To provide an idea of how the message will appear to the recipient, a preview is displayed on the virtual phone located to the right. This allows you to view and adjust the message to ensure it is presented in the desired manner.

By using Fields, you can personalize the message by including the recipient's first name, last name, appointment date, and other relevant information.

Fields are assigned to each contact when the contact list is created. Additionally, you can utilize Templates to simplify the message creation process. Templates allow you to use pre-written messages that can be easily customized to fit your specific needs.

After composing your message, you can select the source number from which the message will be sent. The source number is the phone number that the recipient will see as the message's sender.

When to send the message?

The following section allows you to choose when to send the message. You can either send the message immediately by selecting "Send Now " or schedule it to be sent later by selecting Send Later.
