Especially in the case of troubleshooting, it may be useful to setup MicroSIP, or another soft phone. This guide describes how to do so. While this guide exists, soft phone use should only be used for testing, and will not be supported for daily use.

MicroSIP is written for the Windows operating system. It may be possible to run the tool on MacOS or Linux via Wine, but this functionality has not been validated by Sharpen. If using MacOS or Linux, we recommend Zoiper as an alternative.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to https://app.sharpencx.com/admin/configuration/extensions/

  2. Locate your extension and choose the edit button

  3. Take note of your “username”, “password”, and “Server Address” fields. Leave this page up to copy paste from.

  4. Open MicroSIP after it has been installed from https://www.microsip.org/downloads
