Integrations

Overview

Sharpen's Integration panel in Logic+ allows you to connect your call flows to virtually any platform that exposes a REST API. Because REST is the standard interface used by the vast majority of modern business software, this means Sharpen can exchange data with CRMs, ticketing systems, databases, workforce management tools, e-commerce platforms, and custom internal applications — without requiring custom development on the Sharpen side.

The Integration panel is designed as an automation tool that fits directly into your IVR call flow. Once a call enters a flow, the panel can make a real-time API call to an external system, then use the response to drive what happens next. Depending on where the caller ends up, that data can be used to make routing decisions automatically, surfaced on-screen to a live agent at the moment they answer, or passed to an AI agent to support real-time assistance.

For configuration details on the Integration panel itself, refer to the Integration Panel article.

Example Use Cases

The examples below represent just a subset of what is possible. If the platform your organization uses exposes a REST API endpoint, it can be integrated with Sharpen Logic+.

CRM Integration (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, and others)

  • When a caller enters their phone number, email, or account number, the Integration panel can query your CRM in real time to retrieve the matching contact record. The returned data, such as the customer's name, tier, open cases, or recent activity, can be stored as flow variables and either used to make routing decisions or surfaced to an agent the moment they answer. This works with any CRM that exposes a REST API, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho, and many others.

Policy Lookup for Insurance and Financial Services

  • For organizations that manage policyholders or financial accounts, the Integration panel can perform a real-time policy lookup using a caller-provided policy number, date of birth, or other identifier. The flow can retrieve policy status, coverage details, renewal dates, or outstanding balances and use that data to route the caller appropriately, for example, directing active policyholders to a retention queue and lapsed policyholders to a reinstatement team before any agent is involved.

Account Lookup and Smart Routing

  • When a caller enters their account number via keypad, the Integration panel can query your billing or account management system in real time. Based on the response, the flow can route the caller to a specialized queue, play a targeted message, or take a different path entirely, for example, routing past-due accounts to a collections queue or flagging high-value accounts for priority handling.

Ticketing and Case Management (Zendesk, ServiceNow, Freshdesk, and others)

  • The Integration panel can query an existing open ticket or case associated with the caller before they reach an agent. If an open ticket is found, the flow can inform the caller of its current status as a self-service option or pass the ticket details directly to the agent so they can pick up the conversation in context. New tickets or cases can also be created automatically when a caller reaches a certain point in the flow.

E-Commerce Order Lookups (Shopify, Magento, and others)

  • For retail and e-commerce environments, the Integration panel can retrieve order details, shipping status, or return eligibility based on an order number or customer email provided by the caller. This data can be read back to the caller through a self-service path or displayed to an agent if the caller needs additional assistance.

Real-Time AI Agent Support

  • For flows that incorporate AI agents, the Integration panel can retrieve contextual data, such as product details, account status, or knowledge base content, and pass it to the AI agent at the start of the interaction. This allows the AI agent to provide accurate, personalized responses grounded in live data from your systems rather than relying solely on static knowledge.

Triggering External Workflows and Automations (Zapier, Make, and others)

  • The Integration panel can push data outward to trigger downstream automations. When a caller selects a self-service option, such as requesting a callback, resetting a PIN, or submitting a service request, the panel can fire a POST request to an automation platform like Zapier or Make, which can then initiate follow-up tasks in other connected systems without requiring agent involvement.

Dynamic IVR Menus Based on Live Data

  • Integration data can be used to change what a caller hears or what options are presented to them in real time. For example, if a caller's account is currently under a service outage, the flow can detect that via an API call and play a targeted message before presenting the standard menu, reducing unnecessary call volume for issues that are already known and actively being addressed.

Authentication and Identity Verification

  • The Integration panel can connect to an identity verification service or internal authentication system to validate a caller before they reach sensitive menu options or a live agent. A caller might enter a PIN, account number, or last four digits of their SSN, which the flow sends to your authentication API. The response can then open or restrict access to certain paths within the flow accordingly.

The Possibilities Are Virtually Limitless

The examples above represent only a fraction of what the Integration panel can do. Any platform, system, or database that exposes a REST API endpoint can be connected to a Sharpen Logic+ flow — meaning the integration potential grows alongside your technology stack. Whether your organization relies on industry-specific software, homegrown internal tools, or a combination of both, the Integration panel is built to bridge Sharpen with the systems that matter most to your business. If it has a REST API, Sharpen can work with it.
